About me

Alkanna Buist

Over the past seven years, my work has centred on conversations about work and careers. My experience is in HR: employment support, recruitment and labour market questions. Driven by a strong commitment to professional development, I completed a NOBCO-certified post-bachelor coach training programme in 2022. Continuing to grow as a coach is an ongoing process.

I have coached internationals from different countries on questions about work, career direction and change – and as a Dutch native now living and working in Nuremberg, I know from the inside what that asks of you.

What you can expect: practical when needed, reflective where it matters, and attentive to who you are and what matters to you. I work in English, Dutch or German, online or in person.

What is coaching?

A coaching conversation brings clarity, depth and movement to your question.

Coaching is professional, resource-oriented support focused on learning, self-reflection and concrete next steps. I bring myself into your learning process as a thoughtful sounding board.

We start by pausing at your specific coaching question. Together we explore what lies beneath it, which values, strengths, needs and circumstances play a role, and what you need to move forward.

From there we translate insights into suitable actions. I use different coaching methods and may offer small assignments, suggestions or reflection questions.

Between sessions you take it further: finding something out, talking to someone, or doing something differently than usual.
